Dell Wireless 1350 cannot connect to wireless network, while Linksys can

I cannot get my Dell Wireless 1350 PCI-MiniCard in an INSPIRON 9300 to connect to an unsecured wireless network. I can see the network on the "Wireless Network Connection Window", identified as unsecured. When I click on the connect button, a window pops up asking to wait for Windows to connect to the network, however window closes after a while and nothing happens. Three green bars are shown for signal strenght.

I have driver 3.100.35.1 from 2/23/2005 for the Wireless card.

The Linksys PC card connected automatically out of the box, wo any manual config at all. It shows an 11Mb/s rate, Infrastructure, Channel #6, with Encription Off and Authentication open. Signal strength =-69dBm, noise = -72dBm

Note that I tried spoofing the Linksys MAC address, to no avail. Observed the same behavior. I do not think I have an issue with MAC address filtering.

The WAP is from Netgear.

Thanks for any help!

I hope you don't seriously think someone is going to help you connect to someone else's wireless network..   STOP STEALING!

Up to the spoofing part, this is exactly the same problem I have on I have with the internal PCI card versus a Linksys PCMCIA wireless card.
