device cannot start (code 10)
I just bought a Intel 4965 AGN wireless card for my Inspiron E1705 to replace my Intel 3945ABG
I uninstalled the current card completely, turned off the comp, put my new card in, turned it back on and installed the drivers for the new card. The card is recognized in the device manager, but it has a yellow ! on it and it will not work. This is a brand new card, the drivers are the most up to date drivers, and nothing I do will get it to work (and Im not new to messing with computer)
Does anyone have any idea why I cant get this card to work?
thanks

No you don't have to do anything in BIOS.But your wireless might be turned off by default in windows, hold down the fn+f2 key until you see the bluetooth and wifi catcher light turn off,now hold them down again until they turn on.Now your wireless radios should be set to the on position with windows.
I would suggest installing Intels driver and intels diagnostic tool(as dells diagnostic won't work with intels version).I am using intels and have not had any problems as far as lost,or weak connections.
Post back if it still fails and i will be glad to help.

My wireless radios are default on, and I checked just to make sure and they are enabled. I have the latest Intel drivers installed right now, but its still not working. Im starting to think that the card is just defective, cause I really dont know what else could be wrong with it.
Im downloading older Intel drivers and are going to try them later, but I dont think they will work
and the Intel diagnostic tool fails on the first test.

I have tried both multiple times, clean installs every time
is there anything I need to turn off in the BIOS or something?

White should be on slot 1,and black should be on slot 3.That's how my antennas are hooked up.
EDIT:The second slot, which is grey,is for the third grey antenna for the N band.My E1705 only came with 2 antennas too.

O.k,(this is going to sound like a stupid question),but here goes, are you sure the right antennas are hooked to the right color code on the card?...
