dns errors

I am having problems with my new Dimension 8400. For some reason my internet explorer and outlook express will stop working for a couple of minutes but then start working again. Anyone have any ideas?

What kind of internet connection do you have (cable/dsl/dialup)?  Are you connecting through a router?  Are you using a wireless connection?  Have you contacted your ISP to see if it is problem at their end?  Please provide some more information and perhaps we can help.

If you are on Comcast their servers were having mammoth problems today.

Manually set your DNS to

4.2.2.2

and 4.2.2.1

i am on cable through Eastlink. no router. And my isp says everything is fine on there end. The problem seems to come and go. I installed the latest drivers but no luck. But peer to peer programs seem to run fine all of the time.
