Hi,

what about ftp? Just set up a small ftp-server on vista (perhaps filezilla). I don't know mac os, but I'm quite sure there is a ftp-client in it.

Hope it helps.

thanks for the info - however, i think i might need a visual step-by-step of the process as i am still confused as to what to do.  i am running os x 10.5.2 and usually all of the links i have found refer to os x 10.4, which is different (for instance, there is no option to enable windows file sharing and the entire network utility in 10.5 is different).  and i would need to see what i have to enter as far as workgroups go, what my XXX.local needs to be set at, etc...

it's frustrating because other people's PCs have shown up in my mac's finder, but not my own.

Maybe another Apple user could assist, you might also try posting on the Apple discussion boards.

oh believe me, i've tried the apple forums - no on there seems to know either.  and my purposes for posting here was more to find out how to set it up properly on the PC side.
