Offhand I'd say it's either a range issue (move it closer and see if it appears) or SSID Broadcast is disabled on your router (unlikely if your laptop can see it without any configuration on your part). Seems like the card is fine if it can see other networks.
Thanks for the reply. It is not a distant thing because I have them next to each other. I tried using a 2wire wireless router and the device would "connect" but I had no internet access. The IP addresses were completely different between my laptop and desktop. (The laptop would work). Thanks again.
