Inspiron 5100 Ethernet controller trouble
Hello,
I've got a Dell Inspiron 5100. I recently reconfigurated my laptop (Windows XP). This computer is connected with a wireless network. I am little bit disappointed with this kind of network, so i switched to a cabel network. Unfortunately the system doesn't indicate my ethernet controller (Yellow symbol with a question sign in the hardwarelist). I was searching for a driver on internet, but I don't know what kind of driver I need and where I can download it. So please help me!

Go here and select the Broadcom 440 for the integrated nic. In case your wondering how I got there. I clicked on product support at the top of this page and selected downloads and went on.

What do you mean when you say that you "recently reconfigurated" your laptop? Did you format the drive and reinstall Windows? If so, you will need to reinstall the chipset drivers and other device drivers, including the ethernet controller driver. These drivers all should be on the Dell Resource CD, but in case you lost that, you can download the drivers from the Dell Support site, by clicking on the Product Support tab at the top of the Dell Forum window.
To be specific, the chipset drivers can be found at:
