Intel PROSet/Wireless 2200BG Update & Drivers

Hi.  I just updated my Intel PROSet/Wireless 2200BG software using R114280.EXE from the Dell download site.  Everything appeared OK during the update and I do have wireless connectivity, but when I open the PROSet/Wireless control panel, I get a message stating that my current drivers (9.0.0.6) aren't compatible with the current (updated) software version 10.1.0.0.  It says I should upgrade to version 9.03X:9.02X.  Anyone else with this issue?  Anyone have a fix for this or know where I can find the required drivers?

If Dell posted this update, why weren't the correct drivers packaged with the new software?

TIA.....JL

Don't know about your specific problem, but the latest drivers are available directly from Intel (and the latest Intel client utility):

Thanks Jerry.  I was there before I posted this message, but didn't want to reinvent the wheel.  After reviewing the release notes, it appears I can extract the drivers from the 45 meg package and just install them.  That is what I was looking for.

Update:

I was able to update the drivers to version 9.0.2.31 - July 2005 and the driver conflict message no longer appears when the PROSet/Wireless 2200BG control panel is opened.  BTW, the Intel software (other than the drivers) is OLDER than the Dell provided software.

Thanks for the update.  I drilled into the Dell files and found the standalone driver update utility and launched it.  It installed the drivers and they are as you said, 9.0.3.9, but with a date of 12-Sep-05.  It appears the driver update failed when I ran the Dell PROSet update.  The newer version of the PROSet software was installed, but the matching drivers weren't. All is well now.

Hey all ,, matthew here with a lat 610 and fine 2200Bg wireless,,til last week ...  As an acrobat reader update began downloading itself  against my will ,, my computer froze ,, I shut down ,, rebooted ,, and then my wireless was gone ,, no supported adapters !!! I have found and loaded several versions of the adapter and driver .. Talked to Dell yesterday ,, and they had me load the old Intel driver version 9.0.2.1, 9.0.2.31 11-10-05,, since Dell hasn't yet caught up to Intel Updates ... Still it mattered not to my computer ... No matter which program I use ,,, the intel icon only loads briefly and then disappears,,, The Driver and Adapter won't appear in In device manager but sometimes shows in the add/remove programs...  Btw I removed all other cookies , temp files ,, prefetches and any intel wireless residual files ... I Defragged ,, Ran Adaware ,, SpyBot and Stinger in safe mode ... I have Hijack this and use it in very careful relative ignorance  ,, and was wondering if anyone could read my computers chart and recognize a conflict ... Need a miracle , soon, or I'll just save my harddrive to dvd's and reformat ... Any saviours out there ,, please help ,Thank you ,, matthew    deepest_purple_420@yahoo.com   www.myspace.com/templeofawareness
