Intel PROset/Wireless connection and Driver problems
Dell Inspiron 6000
OS Windows XP SP2 Home Edition
Wireless Card – Intel (R) PRO/ Wireless 2200BG Network Connection-
Intel Wireless Connection Agent Miniport
On two previous occasions I have booted my PC up and noticed that the Intel PROset/Wireless programme didn’t load and I was unable to connect to the Internet. After rebooting the computer it reappeared and I could connect to the Internet.
After completing a routine windows error check the PROset/Wireless programme failed to load and I couldn’t gain access to the Internet. After rebooting, the issue wasn’t resolved. I also preformed a couple of successful system restores, using different dates, but they failed to resolve the issue.
I have looked under the hardware device manager and it says the wireless card has an error and its driver cannot be located or is missing. This is symbolised by a black exclamation mark in a yellow circle. Also, the Intel icon on the taskbar, when hovering the curser above it – states “No supported wireless adaptors available in the system”
Could you please advise on how I can resolve this problem? I am currently connected to my broadband network on a spare Belkin Wireless USB stick I have installed on my laptop.
Thank you
David
