Intel PRO/Wireless 2100
Hello all,
I've installed all my divers in the correct order, I've even done a fresh windows install, tried the drivers from the intel website, tried removing the card and reseating it. Still, my wifi card states that it's unable to start in the device manager. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I hate the stinking cord
- Sorry to hear you're having problems. I hated my intel NIC until I got it all configured, now I use Intel's proSet features weekly. Hope this post helps:1. I assume you're using intel proset 10.5 to try to start the card instead of windows networking. If not please see the following docs:a. make sure Intel can see the cardb. turn on latest version of ProSet for the 2100c. review ProSet instructions from DellNote: I happen to use an intel 2200bg that shipped with my D410 (which uses a different download from Intel) so please reply if this doesn't work.Good Luck!

- Yeah, I tried that. I really appreciate the help. The problem is that niether the Intel ProSet or Window's network connection manager even list my card because it's not started. I have used the detection utility to make sure i do infact have the 2100. I can see it in the Device Manager (with the yellow "!" because it's not started). I've also check the bios setting to make sure that it's enabled and all that good stuff. I'm thinking the device is defective. Unless someone's got any other solutions. Should I replace it with an upgrade intel mini pci or should i switch to one of the dell true mobile devices
