Intermittent Wireless Connection

HELP!
My Linksys wireless connection to my Dell E1705  will intermittently disconnect while operating my laptop. This will occur even if I am seated by the router.I have Windows Vista and this problem began shortly after it was installed. Another laptop in the home does not experience this problem.
Anyone have any suggestions.
Thank you in advance.

Same problem here.
What Linksys router are you using?
what firmware on it?

Which wireless card do you have?
which version driver firmware on it?

For me

Linksys WRT54GX Ver1    firmware 1.02.15
Wireless card  Intel Pro wireless 3945  driver ver. 11.1.0.100  for VISTA

Also other pc's unaffected

I had this problem with my Prowireless 2200BG card until one day when it now doesnt work at all. I can connect to my router and shows excellent signal. Ipsconfig shows valid IP address yet I still cannot load webpages, my partners laptop connects with no problems.

I have spent hours looking over the internet and think its a recent Intel driver update issue.

Try runing LSPFIX the Winsock 2 repair utility from Cexx.org ( Winsockfix might work as well).

I have but it hasnt cured mine. I am now waiting on Dell support to see what they can suggest.

Please let me know I really think Intel and Dell need to investigate this.

I had problems with the 3945 even connecting within the last few days.  Downloaded the updated network driver for the Intel Pro 3945 which was released on 4/27/07.  Installed the file and started the routine then it stated it was removing the existing software.  After several hours it seems it locked up, restarted my computer and now I have nothing.  No wireless software on my computer.  THIS IS BAD!!!!!  Right now I am waiting in the quene for Dell Technical Support Help.

Ok after rethinking everything that I have done and wether or not I have missed something. I went through my troubleshooting again from the start. I did miss something but as of yet I don't know what it means.

This is for my Lattitude 820, Vista Ultimate, 3945 wireless card.

I have noticed that when running on battery only. At around the 80% full mark wireless shuts down, icon in task bar freezesn no control. Only fix is reboot. Now when I plug laptop in and it charges to aprox 80%, connection shuts down.

Please note this is only an observation at this time. I need to test this theory out.

I would like to know if anyone else has noticed this also?
Are all those who have this problem have laptops...or are there any desktops with this which would stop this theory as no battery power.

Also since reading here, this happens with XP and VISTA so perhaps not a windows problem but infact an Intel problem.

Finally got this issue fixed.  The technician had to delete the modem under the device manager and redownloaded the updated network driver and it finally WORKS!!!!  When I asked the technician what I did wrong, they think the network driver didn't installed correctly when I did it but when they did it, it worked.  INTERESTING!!!  Should they test these upgrades before they post them and also they should have detailed instructions for people let me who are not computer savy.  So be carefully when you upgrade your network driver for the Intel Pro 3945ABG.
