Internet connection issues

Question

Forst let me start by saying that I am fairly proficient at fixing computers.  I have been doing it for about 8 years now, ever since my 486Dx. :smileyvery-happy:   I recently ran into a problem that is quite confusing to me.  I am almost positive it is a virus but I can't find/prove it.  I ran norton, which has been updated, and it found nothing.  I ran spybot and nothing.  I am going to run hijackthis later today as well as re-install TCP/IP. The issue is that the internet connection is working and has assigned an IP address to the computer and the digital phone adapter, which works, but will not display any data in IE or firefox so it is not an IE issue or a connection or router issue.  One other thing that is very puzzling which is pointing to a virus is that the connection says it is send 10,000 packets out and only 300 back.  The 300 most likely came from the fact that IE did load up yahoo once at the initial startup then stopped working.  HELP!   I don't know where to go from here short of the next 2 steps I have and re-installing windows.  I have monkied with all the settings possible to see if it happens to be the router or something easy but no luck.  Any ideas what can be wrong?  Or care to confirm my suspisions.

How about DNS servers addresses?  Have they been assigned or setup correctly?

I, too, am having this problem. It's really puzzling since I've had it up and running fine for about 2 months.  Now I can't get anything to display in IE.

Yeah everything is fine there.   I think I may have found something.  Only problem is I need to download some software to get rid of it.  I think I have rdriv.sys trojan.  From the description this shouldn't be causing the problem but it might be.   Any other ideas?
