Internet Explorer problem - Help Please

Every time I log in to check my E-mail or go to different sites I get redirected to a Dell search page. How can I fix this? I tried to do a system restore but it didn't work.  My computer runs Windows XP.

Your secruity software is seeing the change as a potential highjacking and reverts back to the Dell page.  Investigate your settings and search the forum.  This has been brought up numerous times.

I have encountered this one before and it was because of my security software (norton or mcafee).

what security software are you using?

I use Norton, I recently got a free upgrade for Norton 2009 through their website and I downloaded it.  What should I do now?  Uninstall it and go buy it in the store? Or buy a different antivirus program, what is a good one?

Dump Norton There are many good free programs that use less overhead and will free up resources that Norton hogs.

Good firewall programs like ZoneAlarm, Comodo

Good Antivirus programs like AVG or AVAST

Norton is fine, just a little bit "heavy".  You need to read the documenatation on the product and find that configuration setting.
