ISP

I had Internet on my laptop before but I had too many things and a virus on my computer.  I reinstalled Windows XP on it and now I can't connect to the internet.  I thought there was a problem with it so I called DSL and they told me there was nothing wrong and they told me to go to control panel and network connections and click on ISP.  The ISP isn't there for some reason.  I have tried everything I can think of to fix it and I don't know why I don't have ISP on the computer.  Does anyone know what I can do?

Thanks,
Megz

Your ISP will only be in Network Connections is you have a USB connection to the DSL modem.  If you do have a USB connection to the modem, then you will need to install the software for your modem.  If you have an ethernet connection to the modem, then you need to tell us which model computer you have and which version of Windows you are running so we can offer advice on how to install the drivers for all of your devices.
