Network Adapter

My friend just installed a new hard drive on my Demesion 8300 with Windows XP. Anyways the problem is, I cannot get on the internet. I contacted my ISP and they said that my network adapter was not installed or read. I went into Device manager and there was 2 yellow question marks under "Other Devices" (Ethernet Controller and Multimedia Audio Cotroller). Can anyone please help me with this situation? This is a brand new hard drive with just the Windows XP HE installed. Thats it. I dont know what else to do. Im not a computer guy either so try to explain it as simply as you can. Thank YOu

Oh yeah, just FYI I can link to the net with my Laptop Comp. Its nothing to do with the modem or ISP.

where u see the yellow exclamation marks, just right click and look for the option that allows u to repair it and if that doesnt work those yellow exclamation could mean that those devices are corrupted possibly because of spyware or a virus. tell me if this solves ure problem on xp

After reinstallling Windows, it is absolutely essential that you install the chipset drivers before even attempting to install drivers for other devices.  Once the chipset drivers are installed, you will need to install the drivers for your ethernet network adapter (to get your internet connection working again, sound card, video adapter, and modem.  These drivers should be on your Dell Drivers and Utilities CD or Dell Resource CD, or they can be downloaded from the following site:
