Network controller driver problem on Inspiron 7520 SE

Hi,

I just bought a brand new Inspiron 15R SE 7520. After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (service pack 1) I've visited the Dell Product Support section, entered in my service tag and downloaded all the recommended drivers & applications. Everything works fine on the laptop right now except for one major issue: I can't connect to the internet.

The wireless switch is ON, but there's no sign of any wireless networks in the Network and Sharing center or in the system tray icon next to the clock.

This is what I see in the device manager:

When I double click the Network controller the device status reads:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28)

I checked this thread which seemed to have a very similar problem to mine, and I updated the bios to Inspiron_7520_A07_BIOS.Next I installed this driver http://dell.to/OJXqas. After unpacking the latter file (WiFi_Intel_W74_A01_Setup-G6Y8G_ZPE.exe) and running setup.exe I got his error message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running [...]

The page from where I downloaded the driver clearly states Windows 7 64-bit & Inspiron 7520 under compatibility. What could be wrong?

How do I get my network controller up & running?

I guess not... What do I do now, uninstall everything under device manager?

In the Chipset category there are 4 items. Does the order in which I install these items count?

After reading this thread it is clear the network controller isn't intel base thus any "Chipset, Intel usb devices, card reader, Intel management" driver suggestions is utterly useless. I look into Dell driver support page and noticed they listed "Realtek audio" driver twice (both in audio and network). Turns out the laptop is using a Realtek controller and whoever listed up the drivers on dell support page couldn't tell the difference between the Realtek audio and network drivers.

downloads.dell.com/.../Inspiron%2015R%20SE%207520

Scroll down to "Network - Driver" and download the latest Realtek network driver.

Isn't it great to get a real answer and not some generic answers~~~

Just in case for the future if dell doesn't fix the issue and the link I posted up cease to work.

The name of the driver on the page is: Realtek RTL8105E-VD Fast Ethernet Realtek RTL8111F-CG Gigabit Ethernet

The latest version when this was posted is A02.

The downloaded file is named: LOM_Realtek_W7_X01_A02_Setup-7HM70_ZPE.exe

Compatible with both Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit (which also means compatible with Windows 8)

I solve this problem with this file: Network_Driver_G9X9G_WN_WLAN_10.0.0.59_A04
