Networking Failure
Hardware and OS: Dell Dimension 4600 WindowsXP with SP2 - Host Computer
HP Pavilion XE783 WindowsME - Other Computer
Westell Wirespeed DSL Modem
Linksys Router NR041 Cable/DSL 4 Port Router
All cables connected correctly.
Network Wizard has been run repeatedly on Host to share Internet LAN connection, printer, files.
Floppy made on Host and run on HP.
Each time the dialog is "Success"
No success. Host is online and showing sharing of HP. My Network Places, however, shows Local Network, but no access is allowed. Error Dialog "Not accessible.... not allowed...no network path..."
HP computer is NOT online and My Network Places has Entire Network, but when opened the error dialog is "Unable to browse the Network.....no access"
Can anyone help as we're going nuts here?
Thanks.

Using a router to share an internet connection, there is no host computer. All are equal and both connect to the internet through a router. It sounds like you let the wizard install lnternet Connection Sharing. This is not necessary and will not work with a router. Please clarify what it is you are doing. You might want to read the manual that came with your router and look at the tutorials at www.homenethelp.com
