Outlook Express - problem

Question

Hello,   My outlook express does not send mail that I create.    Replying to an incoming Email goes out ok.. but when I COMPOSE an  Email ..  it goes.. ( it looks like it is sending )  but never arrives..   I have checked my accounts setup with my ISP Support People and all is correct   Any ideas? Anyone?   Thanks   David Warner Robins, GA

Does the composed message actually go to and then leave your Outbox?

Thanks for  the reply.   Yes it does - Outbox shows 1 message for a brief second... and then goes to clear .. my McAffee virus scan pops up, as normal.. scans the email.. and then goes away.. and the Email SHOULD be on its way ... and perhaps it does... but it never arrives.   Last night, I changed from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook and although I was receiving ISP timeout errors last night.. when trying to send.. This morning Outlook is successfully sending a message!  Outlook Express is still behaving the same; go figure.. I will just change over to Outllook - unless you have a recommendation on how to fix Outlook Express   David.

The first thing I'd recommend trying is disabling Mcafee and then sending a test email to yourself. I've heard of issues with messages being stuck in the Outbox - but if its leaving then being scanned via Mcafee it may be getting its headers stripped and vanishing into the ether.
