Problem installing Dell Remote Access

I got my Studio 1737 laptop about a month ago.  I have yet to be able to set up the Dell Remote Access application.  When I run the setup, I choose English, then it says "Initializing  Dell Remote Access on this computer..."  The progress bar goes about halfway across, then jumps to the end and an error box pops up that says "An internal error was encountered while trying to initialize Dell Remote Access on your computer.  Please contact us for assistance." and gives an address of http://support.dell.com/remoteaccess, which just takes you to the general support site.  I have chatted with tech support online, and they said since it is a software issue, I'd have to call Dell on Call.  Before I try to deal with them and probably have to pay for support, I thought I'd check here to see if anyone else has had trouble with this, and if there is a fix.  I have already tried reinstalling the application, and installing with the antivirus program off.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally got tired of the pop-up notification to try Dell Remote Access and tried to set it up today.  I am getting the exact same message on an Inspiron 518..."internal error"...

Hi-

I've heard that there is newer version that addressed this issue. I would start by uninstalling the version you currently have installed then do a reboot of your PC. Once that is done, reinstall with the latest version from their marketing site at http://www.dellremoteaccess.com  or directly from this link: http://downloads.dellremoteaccess.com/ra_setup.msi. If you still have issues then you might need to send them an e-mail at support@dellremoteaccess.com for further assistance. I use this program frequently and find pretty useful.....I hope your able to get it going because I think you'll like it too.

The new version worked for me.  No more error after removing the old one and installing the new.  Thanks!
