You'll have to forgive me I'm not great with the technical side of computers!
I did what you said on repair a connection and for about 5mins I could access internet through router but not in wireless mode and then it went back to normal - i.e unable to connect other than direct through modem.
When I go into my 'network and sharing centre' and select 'manage network connections' the Wireless Network Connection shows as not connected. When I go into that under the 'sitecom option it states "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".

Hi
The router is probably max 18 months old.

Are you able to help me any further?
Thanks

Starmama,
Can you see any networks?
Try pressing Fn and F2 to turn the wireless card on. You cannot connect wireless wehile connected with the ethernet cable.
Can you connect on another network, like at a WiFi Hotspot?
