setting up network with RG- 1000
My computer has XP SP2. I put a Truemobile 1150 PCMIA wireless card with PCI adapter into it. I want to connect to the internet via dialup, with a wireless connection through my RG-1000 Residential Gateway. The problem is that XP wont recognize the RG-1000 when it is hooked up to a phone line.
The software on the disk that came with it interferes with XP's built in support for it, but i tried it anyway and it didn't work. Please help me.
- When you power up the RG-1000, it should go through a sequence of illuminating the fromt panel lights, ending with the top (Power) LED illuminated.
Check the Device Manager for verification that the miniPCI card is functioning properly.
Also refer to the User Guides, in the Product Support area accessable through the tab at the top-left of these pages. The RG-1000 is listed under Network / Dell Wireless Access Point/Routers/Gateways / Dell TrueMobile 1150 Series RG1000.
The Setup Utility for the Residential Gateway is available from the link below.
I cannot tell exactly what steps you have taken during installation. Communication with the RG should be established during the initial setup.GM
