Spooler Subsys App

I have a Dell Dimension running on XP and a Sony Vaio notebook running on Win ME connected to a router. It was working find sharing files and all when I decided to expand the network with another notebook, Dell Latitude on XP

Can't get the Latitude hooked into the network and now I am left with another problem that both the original Dimension and Vaio can seem to read each other.

When I tried running the XP home networking, an error message says that "Spooler Subsys App has encountered a problem and will be shut down....."

Also, when I tried to view the workgroups, the Dimension do not allow it and ask for Network Administrator. I have set teh Dimension as the administrator but it still the same.

Can someone help.

i had pritty much the same problem when i hooked up my network that error came up i had to change the connection speed to be able to see the other computers. you should have 4 things in the properties of the local area connetion

client for microsoft network,
file and print sharing
qos packet scheduler
internet protocol(tsp/ip)

to change your connection speed goto configure on the local area connection properties, then click on advanced then choose link speed & duplex then on the right there will be a list of speeds. chose any one of them besides the one it is all ready selected

that got it to work, but had to keep changing the speed every time i logged back on. i have called dell support on this they could not tell me what was going on so i had to do a system restore and reload the network drivers and problem went away may be if i would of just reinstalled the drivers i might of been fine
