TureMobile 1184 - problems
Hi,
I am unable to get my router to recognize my internet connection (cable). I don't know if there is something wrong with the router or the way it is set up. I believe the set up is fine. Comcast is my cable modem provider. Should the internet light come on was soon as the connection is plugged into the router or does it need to be configured correctly before the light comes on?
The router is working fine between my desktop and laptop computers, it just won't recognize my internet connection.
If it is a router problem, does the wireless card I have for the 1184 model work for a newer router version or do they need to be the same version?
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,
Using different wireless cards shouldn't be a problem. I also have a true mobile 1184 with different network-cards and this works perfect. Have you changed the settings of the router for internet connection?

When moving a cable modem connection to a different device, such as a router, the cable modem needs to be powered down for a few minutes before it will recognize that it's connected to the new device.
Try this:
Shut off the cable modem, router, and your PC, in that order.
Wait five minutes.
Turn the cable modem back on, and wait until it has initialized and established a connection with the cable system.
Turn the router back on, and wait until it has completed initialization.
Turn the PC back on.
Does the connection work then?
