Windows 8 bluetooth problem ot Dell Inspiron 1564

Question

My Dell Insiron 1564 cannot detect bluetooth. I've tried with the dell drivers for Dell inspiron 1564, but i cannot install them. I also tried some advices with other drivers, but i couldn't install them either. Could you please help me. Thanks!

Same Problem, I had Windows 8 '64 bit' O/S, solution is using the ( 'R235168' ) Bluetooth Driver Steps: ----------1) navigate to the http://dell.to/S3vwvD URL download the  'R235168' ) Bluetooth Driver  and extract it. 2) open the folder after extraction is completed. 3) navigate the folder till reaching the folder  \R235168\R235168, For me the path is C:\dell\drivers\R235168\R235168. 4) open the folder (Win 32 or Win 64) depending on your windows file system configuration, For me it's Win 64. 5) Open the file 'Inst.exe', complete installation using the wizard.Results: ------------ The driver is installed correctly and working (I used it and working perfectly) Thanks to DELL-Rajath N & Saturn865

Hi alphaumi,

It could be upsetting when the Bluetooth fails to work after upgrading to Windows 8. I suggest you to install the Windows 7 Bluetooth drivers in Compatibility Mode and check if it works properly. You can download the driver from the following link:

Please follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in Compatibility Mode and let me know your findings:

1. Right-click the program's icon and choose "Properties."
2. When the "Properties" dialog box appears, click the "Compatibility" tab and then click the "Run Compatibility Troubleshooter" button.
3. In the "Compatibility Mode" section, select the "Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For" check box and select the program's desired Windows version (Windows 7) from the drop-down list.
4. Click "OK" and then run the program again.

I had the same problem when I installed Windows 8 on my Insprion 1564. Internal bluetooth card can't be detected under Windows 8. Here's the fix. Go to Dell download and get the bluetooth 380 driver for window 8 and install. A generic bluetooth driver will be installed.  Now the bluetooth card can be detected. Once you have the generic bluetooth driver installed you can update the driver to the most current dell driver under device manager. Took me quite a while to figure that out. Good luck. :emotion-1:
