If you boot to Safe Mode with networking support, does it still take a long time to load?

Here's what happens when I start it on Safe Mode with Networking. It takes a long time to load everything after windows starts, but once everything finally loads, the wireless connection is there. I'm not sure if that will help.

Is Windows managing your wireless network settings or is the utility that goes with your wireless network card managing your wireless settings?  Which wireless network adapter do you have?

Hey! At home I use the Windoes Zero Configuration and at colelge, I use the Dell Program. It doesn't affect the loading when I use either, they both take equally long to load. I have a Dell Wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. I also installed the new drivers for it (March 2007).

Since Draft N is not yet a standard, are both routers Draft N routers?  If not, have you tried disabling the N band in Control Panel > Network Adapters > Wireless Adapter > Advanced?

I'm sorry, I meant Device Manager instead of Control Panel.  I guess it might help to know which version of Windows you are running since I know nothing about Windows Vista.

Sorry. I'm not too familiar with Control Panel. I don't seem to have the option Network Adapters. I have Network Connections and Wireless Network Connections, but it none of those allow me to disable N band.

I'm using Windows XP. I'm afraid of the upgrade to Vista.

I get the option to Disable Bands, and under it is, 802.11a and 802.11g/b. I'm not which one I'm trying to disable. Thanks for all your help!

It sounds to me like you're running two security programs. Did your school require you to install their Security Service or antivirus program? If so you need to remove one.

Yes, my school had my install MCafree to use their internet. However, I uninstalled the antivirus software that came with my Dell Inspiron. I'm not sure if that well affect anything.

I tried removing all my Virus Scanners... but it hasn't worked. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it!
