Wireless Driver not supporting

Hi,

My name is Harmeet Singh and I am using Dell Vostro 1014 (Windows 8.1 pro -64 bit) and suddenly its wifi card stopped working (not showing in device manager even) so I have inserted another working wireless card (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Advanced -N 6205) from Lenovo X220i laptop and after installing its driver it is showing yellow mark in device manager.

So I have formatted it and now I have installed Windows 7 Pro -64 bit but still same issue is there. I have tried many times with different drivers from different sites even from intel site but this issue is not resolving.

Can anyone help me in this issue?

    Hello Harmeet

When you said that its gone from device manager sound like your wifi card died.

What I think its better is when you installed Intel (R) Centrino (R) Advanced -N 6205) from Lenovo X220i

connect your laptop via LAN and delete all drivers  for wifi card, reboot and while connected to LAN - (Wired) let  windows detect the drivers and install the drivers

    Hope that helps

This really is a bad situation, sounds like your drivers are  wrong  for intel card, but  need to ask you  couple more questions

    - when using  original wireless card is sit showing device manager?

    - with Intel card , did you download from lenovo or intel site?

    - what OS are you running?

    - did you try to connect by lan  and see if  windows update finds the drivers?

    1) I am using Windoes 7 Pro 64-bit.

    2) Original wireless card was not showing in device manager that is why I have changed it.

    3) I have downloded and installed drivers from both Intel site as well as lenovo but didn't get success. I am uninstalling them also so that they can not override each other.

    4) I have tried to update windows also by connecting LAN but it is not getting update.

    Thank you

I went to check Lenovo site  for x220 and shows

    Intel WiMAX 6250 AGN for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad

Intel Wireless LAN (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad

    ThinkPad Wireless LAN (802.11b/g/n) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad

3 different drives , first one shows 6250 card but you said 6205 i am assuming that is a typo.

Yellow exclamation sign means driver is  wrong but system is detecting it which is good. can you please tell me the FRU number on the card ( part number)

This has a fix I am convinced, I solved many  weird wifi issues.

Sorry I am asking you alot of questions
