wireless internet connection

Can some please help me out with my problem. i have a dell inspiron 6000 & a desktop computer, my problem is that i can connect to both laptop & desktop via my thomson wireless router with the ethernet cable ( seperatly). But when i try to log on to the internet with my laptop wirelessly i get the error message cannot connect to the DNS server. i have been though all the router settings with my provider & they say that the router is working fine & that the laptop must be blocking the access. in my network connections it tells me that i have a wireless connection & that the signal strength is very good but i am still unable to log on. i attatch a list of all the settings in case anyone can make sense of them any help would be much appriciated.

Kind regards michael

From what you provided, your DNS server is definitely different on the wireless than the ethernet.  And as the ethernet is the one that is woriking, I would say the wireless is wrong.

The only thing I can think of is one of two possibilities. that is causing this.

1.  In your ip address configuration of your wireless adapter (start-control panel-network connections - wireless adapter - properties - internet protocal - properties) make sure there is no entry in the DNS fields and select the "obtain DNS Server address automatically"

2.  In your Router you may have a reservation set for a static address and have the DNS entry wrong.

To validate, go to the DNS selection in #1 and select "use the following DNS address" and put in the 192.168.1.254.  If the wireless works now,l whatever is delivering your DHCP address is toast!
