Wireless Problem
I have a 530 desktop and a m50 laptop. Each has been updated to XP from Windows 2000. The 530 is hardwire connected to a Belkin Wireless Router which is hardwire connected to a Motorola Cable Modem. A hardwire network has been sucessfully implemented.
It is the wireless connection that presents a problem.
When the laptop is hardwired to the newtork all the expected functions are functioning. On a wireless level, the laptop can not download Windows Updates or send e-mails. I have exhausted MS troubleshooting suggestions as well as those of Belkin.
The last advise I received was to do a clean install but do not install XP over 2000, just install XP using 2000 as proof of a complete operating system.
I really would like to avoid a clean install, it would take several days to install and configure XP, install all the other programs and configure them, etc.
Is there any out there that has a solution

It appears that there are low level incompatibilities with some wireless routers and some laptops that can show up in weird ways.
