its another utility thats taking over wireless internet. you came close when you said everytime you restart you've to restart the wzc. its the intel proset or the dell wlan utility. (it runs in the startup of msconfig) in order to disable it permanantly, right click on the intel proset/dell wlan icon in the system tray (bottom right hand corner next to the system date/time), choose the option that says use windows to manage wifi.

hope this helps. :)

its not a defective part denisse. its just the way you configure it. were you able to find an icon that says intel proset wireless near the system date/time (bottom right hand corner). just hover your mouse on all icons and the one that we need will say intel proset wireless. use the right mouse btn and click on it. it will give you and option that says "use windows to manage wifi". just click on it and it will come up with a question... "do you want windows to manage wireless?" say yes to that and the issue is fixed.

nope. thats not what we need to do. just do this step and we need to do it only once.

if not you might have to show these steps to a friend who is computer-inclined and get help.

ok. click on the start > all programs. we are looking for a program that says either Intel Proset Wireless or Dell Wlan Utility. see if you have this or anything similar to this. if you see Intel Proset click on it. look for an option that says " Let this Utility manage wireless". it would have a check mark. uncheck it. click on apply. ok. Restart the computer and when you are back at the desktop.

ok then. you dont find this icon on the bottom right hand corner. no issues. click on start > all programs ....

look for anything that says intel proset... click on it.

in the intel proset window, look for an option that says "let this utility manage wireless". it will have a check mark. uncheck it. click on apply > Ok and restart the computer.

look for a baloon on the bottom right hand corner that says " wireless networks detected". click on that baloon, select your router and click on connect. you should be able to connect to internet wirelessly.
