Frustrated
I never have posted in a public form before so if this is the wrong place it's coming out here. I have purchased my last 3 computers from Dell over the last 3 years or so, as well as having a Dell account. I tried to purchase another laptop 4 days ago and received an email after getting a confirmation that the order was on hold due to a "pending verification". I called Dell to do this and spoke to someone who was friendly but barely understood english. My mothers maiden name was spelled wrong in Dells system which I have dealt with Dell before in trying to order and get account info before. Somewhere in trying to get my information across to the operator she got it wrong and decided that I needed to have a letter mailed to me to verify who I was. She explained that the letter would arrive in a few days and we hung up. After a few days and not getting the letter I called Dell and was told that the letter would take 7-10 days to arrive and I cancelled the order with the operator. This is frustrating! Dell had no problem charging my account when I had to have my 1st laptop an XPS repaired, which by the way was not completely repaired, but I didn't feel like sending it back again to get rerepaired. It sort of works so I will live with it. Dell had no trouble charging my account to try to repair my $5000 dollar desktop XPS which was just out of labor warranty because they thought was a software issue, which it wasn't because I just had a Dell tech just try to put a motherboard, hard drive and heat sync in the computer. Which isn't completed yet because the wrong heat sync was sent. Not to mention the 4 plus hours I had to spend on the phone to perform all the tasks needed by the Tech from Dell. I was never offered a credit for the charge to fix the software issue which never was. They had no problem charging my account for me to upgrade my video cards(for $1200), sound card and Windows 7 while I was on the phone with the Dell Rep setting up my service call. I like most continue doing business with a company because I am set up with it, having the Dell account makes it easy to do business the Dell. Having to deal with this is probably changing my mind about Dell. Like I mentioned at the beginning I have never contacted a company in regards to a problem or bad service, but feel taken for being a "Good Customer"

Totally agree - Dell's biggest problem is lack of qualified technical support / customer service. I'm just livid right now with how slow & unreliable their customer service is. I can't get a prompt answer I feel comfortable with. There are conflicts between what the website says and what customer support says. My CSR who takes my orders is slow to respond to simple requests (like getting a written email confirm) and his supervisor is completely unresponsive and won't return emails or calls.
