Help
Trying to do a PC restore on a Inspiron 5100 laptop, however when I hit control and F11 at the startup screen nothing happens it just continues on with startup. Any idea how to get this to work. I really don't want to have to do a total reinstall of windows etc. Would appreciate any suggestions. I did it several weeks ago on my daughters laptop b130 and it worked like a charm.

Hi jill122259, If you need reinstall disc's and live in the US, you can use this online form HERE. If you live outside the US, phone your local dell support number.

Thank you to all who have replied. I guess it's too old for the factory pc restore...Guess I have to do it the old fashioned way. If I'm not back letting you know the reinstall worked....................................................

The factory restore option is not always on all system especially older models. Looking at your system manual there is no mention of using the Factory restore so your only option is to do a clean install.
