My Order Delayed by one month

I ordered a dell 430 with expected delivery date 10 14. Delevery expected tomorrow 15th May. I was please with just one day to go. Just got an email sayin due to excessive demand your delivery date is delayed. New delivery date 15th June. What a disappointement. Can I cancel? If I was told it would take  more than six weeks to get a pc I would not have ordered it. When did they realise they were getting to many order? 1 day to go then they let me know.  I have been checking my order status and nothing then BAM. I think there is deception here. Can I cancel my order? Surely it was not in production in the beginning, can they get away with this surely been lied to. I don't think I will buy anything from this company again.

REally REally disppointed.

This happened me too, but less than a week after I got that email, I had a call to say order would be delivered in 2 days - so it was just a week late in all. So you may be lucky,....

Thanks YS76 Do I feel lucky? I am  not optimisitc however it is good to know it worked for you. I just got a horrible feeling when they said you couldn't cancel as it was in production but I knew full well it wasn't in production because they basically said it wasn't. Thanks anyway see how it goes. Six weeks is Long time to wait. Hope your happy.

HI ,

I have also a very bad experience with Dell delivery system.

For my goods, Estimated delivery time was 1July but till today, 5th July, I am waiting for the goods. In the online order status system, status of this order is "with local carrier" from 31st Jun.  Even I didn't receive any mail or call from Dell to inform me about the delay.

I sent  mails to APCustServ@dell.com

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

and I tried to call them on 13 33 55 . After about 40 minutes, Dell representative came on phone and she told me that she will inform local carrier to contact me. But till today I did not get any feedback from anywhere.

I am very disappointed by all this stuff.

VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Dear YBs80  HI

Thanks for the email. My pc was delayed by one month from the day before I expected it. I waited for 3 weeks and the day before said it would be dealyed by one month. Actually one week later they said it was ready and sent to the local carrier. It was with the carrier for 1 week but it was a bank holiday which delayed it. I was happy finally but it is I know how disappointing it can be. I am satisified now though thankfully. So you should know the carrier so it is with them now I suggest you contact them as I did. I got through to someone I found to be delightful and told me when my pc would arrive. It came as expected. I am now delighted as you will be. I suggest take a few deep breaths feel the sun shining on your face and look  on the bright side of life. You will be satisfied I am sure you pc will come in a few days. Good luck let me know how it goes.

Join in your disappointment.  Have ordered Dell's for year's and never had these experiences.  I just canceled my order.  One reason is logistics of moving to another city.  Never was a problem before to get the product in three weeks - speed WAS a core comptenecy of Dell.  But the content of the emails letting me know (which I do appreciate) that they couldn't deliver and the absoulte "who gives a darn" attidute of the phone representativie will send me elsewhere.

Really not disappointed but upset that a vendor I thought I could rely on has also changed back to the attidute of "any car color you want, as long as it's black."

I signed up to this forum so I can vent.

I had about the same experience; ordered a camera and waited for approx one month and then all of a sudden my order status page went blank.  Emailed dell and I was informed my order for the camera was cancelled; I did not cancel the camera.  However, they still want to ship me the memory card that I ordered for that camera (on same order).  Now why would I need a memory card for the camera when I am not getting it.

Took a few phone calls, but finally got someone to admit that Dell has cancelled my order; due to lack of stock!!; BTW, it was from "Days of Dell Deals"...  I asked if they were going to offer me a deal on a similar camera and the answer was bluntly "NO".  So I told them to cancel the memory card and went and deleted all my credit cards info off my profile.  I asked them to delete my customer profile, but nothing has happened.

Bottomline, person on the other end of the phone is from the far east, Dell just don't care.

I've been a pretty regular customer of Dell, I really liked the XPS notebook that I bought a couple years ago and had gotten some pretty good deals on electronics since.  This incident has left a very bad taste and have spoiled my relationship with Dell.

Like you a Dell customer for many years, and a number of computers.  They didn't care, Best Buy did, and now having moved which required the new unit on time, I have a wonderful Gateway unit, that has my raves along with the service provider.  The gem of this service "opportunity" is that I teach a college section on marketing.  Could be a great case study.

Ok here's my vent.

I ordered my things on June 13th 2009,  all i orderd was a laptop, a printer and some spare cartriges.  I was told that my order would be honored by June 19th.

After waiting till the 21st of June i only received the printer and cartridges.  My laptop didnt come.  I was told 8 times,  8 times,  that my order would be here and every time the delayed my order again.  Here it is 07/23/09 and my laptop order has been changed so that Dells computer systems dont know ive been waiting 2 months for my laptop.

I have avidly been comtacting Robert for info on my laptop but all he can tell me is "I'm sorry i had better news.  this part is on backorder"  everytime same thing, something new is on backorder.  I ordered my computer after graduating high school so that i had something to use during college.  The only problem is that i start school in less than 2 weeks and my laptop is said to be shipped till 8/7/09. Who knows maybe it'll get here when they say this time.

All I can see on the TV is tose Dell commercials saying buy a new studio 15 laptop, which is what i bought 7 weeks ago.  I should not have to wait this long, just to be told again that my order is delayed.

The thing i want to know is are all the other people order these laptops getting them?  are they delayed to? do i keep etting the shaft for no reason?  Find out  next time on the STUDIO 15 NIGHTMARE!!!!!!   sponsored in part by veiwers like you.

as you can see im in high hopes still, but i wish my laptop would get here  other wise they just stole 1200 dollars of mine for an all in one printer.  Please any help would be nice.

Of course you can cancel your order but in all honesty Dell will probably do it for you. Dell apparently has a policy of  "two delays = canceled order."

It is unfortunate but this has been Dells "M.O." for the past two years and it has been steadily getting worse. I just re-outfitted all my offices with new desktops and they are all HP systems all because Dell couldn't get an order out.  I am purchasing new laptops, my order has just been canceled for the second time and I can't seem to be able to speak with a live person about these issues. So once again I am going somewhere else for my computers ... Dell has forgotten about the little guy and small business.

I don't suggest going to HP for laptops but their desktop systems are very good and they have good customer service. I bought 200 systems last year and had issues with two of them all of which were fixed in less than 48 hours. I have spent over a month just trying to speak with a Dell customer service rep.

I am amazed Dell still has customers.

Awww man, I wish I knew about Dell's Delay rep before I ordered.

Ordered 8/20

EDD was 9/4

EDD delayed to 9/14

As of today 9/4 - In Production Build stage for a week now.

I suppose I can't cancel at this stage and must wait it out.  But maybe it'll delay again when it hits 9/14.  My son is out of computer and has to type his homework at the library after school hours.  I'm thinking of running out ot get a cheap computer just so he can come home after school.

Sadly, I didn't read about this until too late.

I ordered and XPS 9000 on 9/13 and had an estimated delivery date of 9/23.  On 9/17, I was checking the status of my order online and found it had been revised to 10/2. No notification.  I requested and explanation and on 9/20 it was moved back to 9/28. Now on 9/28 I get notification it has been delayed again to 10/6 because of a supply shortage.  All of this time it has shown a status of "in production".  I've ordered a number of systems from Dell in the past and have never seen this kind of problems with them.

I have VERY little faith I'll be seeing my system on 10/6 now but at this point I'm completely over a barrel since I don't have time to get a system from a competitor in.  Dell seems to be playing very loose and fast with the facts these days. Either they've completely lost control over their supply lines and production facilities, or they know how long it will take from day one, but just give out the early 'teaser' dates to keep you from canceling your order immediately.

So, while I'm caught between a rock and another big rock on this one, I can honestly say they won't be getting a whole lot of orders from me in the future.  I'm sure losing my future orders really breaks their hearts, but it seems I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Way to keep customers happy Dell!
