Error code 3-4 Amber Light

Hi,

I just bought 8GB sticks (2 sticks) of P Sector 5 DDR3 RAM sticks for my Dell OptiPlex 3010 SFF. Once i install it, power it up, i received error code 3-4 amber light. Nothing happen. I chaged different slots, yet still the same.

Once i install its old 4GB sticks it works normally.

Any way or troubleshoot to fix above issue?

Note: i bought new RAM.

Thanks,

Lights 3 and 4 is memory "power" failure.   The 3010 requires 1.35V memory. The Patriot memory you have is 1.65V and thus incompatible.  Patriot's memory checker also confirms this.

We suggest Crucial memory for non-Dell branded memory as it is guaranteed to work in a Dell.

Service tag should be sent in PM only.  Moderator may delete it if you send to public.

3010 tech guide mentions ddr3 which is standard 1.5V. Low voltage 1.35V ddr3L can still work in 3010, but no evidence that 3010 memory has to be exclusively 1.35V.
