G3220 in Optiplex 9020 SFF?
Hi Everyone,
I hope to purchase a Optiplex 9020 SFF with i7-4770 CPU.
I would like to be able to remove the CPU to use in another PC, and then replace it with a Haswell G3220 (Pentium) processor.
I have seen hints in Dell documentation that it may work, but I cannot find a definitive Supported CPU list anywhere. I have also seen 9020s sold with the G3220 in adverts in Asia.
Can any one throw some light on whether the G3220 would work or not in the Optiplex 9020?

It should be ok. The 9020 has an Intel Q87 Express chipset which supports the G3220 so there shouldn't be any issues. However, I can't say with 100% certainty since it was never validated by Dell and was only ever sold with i3, i5 and i7 CPUs
