Intel Rapid Storage problem Windows 10

Question

I have several OptiPlex 9020 Dell systems that updated past couple days into the new version of windows 10 2004 and noticed that the SATA driver was also updated and now the Intel Rapid Storage Application will not run and when I open it it says it will not run.After looking up it I found several places saying I need to reinstall my Intel Rapid Storage Program, . I downloaded the correct one here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=cwf39 When I install it the program starts the installs and runs and at the very end it fails. Not sure if the old version needs to be removed or what but how can I reinstall this or force the install? Help

Ok so i was contacted by the MOD here telling e my warranty has ended, YEAH, tell me something I don't know, what does that have to do with help on the problem at hand in a free forum here?

You tried to install intel RST Version 14.8.1.1043 on a 9020. That version is NOT compatible with your model.

Version 9 and 10 are for really old models.

Version 11 is for ICH7 thru 10

Version 12 and up are for MUCH NEWER Chipsets and as you get newer and newer chipsets they drop support for older models.

The other issue is that DOTNET 3.5 SP1 must be installed.

The INTEL RST Console REQUIRES DOTNET and windows 10 requires DOTNET to be installed manually. THEN the RST software for your chipset must be installed. There is no one size fits all version and the newer versions DO NOT INSTALL OR WORK OR RUN on older chipsets.

Version 9.6 may be the highest. Drives larger than 2 TB require version 10.1 minimum

The INTEL RST 9.6 and 10.1 are no longer available for download from INTEL. All the RST older versions are END OF LIFE END OF SUPPORT.

What I'm trying to say is that you need to download the WIN10 cab file set.

Then move that file to the my documents folder.

Then install 7 zip

https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Then extract the contents of the cab file in the my documents folder by right clicking the file and say extract here with 7zip.

Then go into device manager and right click the sata controller and say update from my pc. The individual RST driver may also need to be de installed then re installed.

RST will not install without DOTNET 3.5 installed.
