Second M.2 SSD in a Optiplex 7090 Micro

I have an Optiplex 7090 Micro with one M.2 (512gb) and want to add another M.2 (1TB) but I'm having a problem getting the PC to see the second M.2. I know the M.2 works and I'm sure I got it seated correctly but Disk Management does not see that it's present.

The new M.2 is a Samsung 970EVO Plus NVmeM2.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Thanks for you help.

Non Dell Hardware requires Secure Boot OFF.

PCI-E M2 drives require F2 bios sata operation to be set to AHCI

The samsung units also have their own NON NATIVE TO WINDOWS Driver.

This driver is required for Samsung NVMe™ SSD 970 PRO, 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus, 960 PRO, 960 EVO and 950 PRO.

If I understand you correctly your micro came with an M.2 2230 512 gb ssd. You are trying to install a 2nd M.2 2280 ssd.  If you enter bios, what do you see under storage>M.2 PCIe ssd-0?  How many ssd are detected by bios?

Thanks, given what's in the next response I think I'll just use an external enclosure for the 1tb M.2. I already have the enclosure and the M.2 works just fine with it when plug into the 7090.

    Thanks for the response.
