Using 2 M2 NVMe SSDs in Optiplex5040

I recently purchased a refurb Optiplex 5040. I was anticipating it having a 2.5 SATA drive and installing an already purchased 1TB M2 NVMe SSD into the M2 slot and using it for NAS. The computer arrived with no SATA drive, only an M2 SSD in the slot. Is there a way I can utilize another NVMe SSD. I have seen adapters for M2 SATA to a standard SATA cable but nothing for NVMe. I'm also open to a USB option if I have to.
