Boot bios problem?

A customer has a PowerEdge T410.   When I run a remote reboot on it stops at a screen that you have to hit F1 to continue or F2 to go into some sort of setup.   It shows the Phoenix Rom BIos Plus Version 1.10 1.4.7 etc.   Then Dell system PowerEdge T410 .. www.dell.com and then the strike F1 key to continue , F2 to run system setup program.

I have not worked on Dell servers for a long time so curious what is stopping it at this point during a simple reboot of Windows.    Do we need to go into the bios and clear some error logs or something ?

Thanks

Mike

Yes under boot settings in the bios there are boot sequence and hard drive sequence options.

There are a few things that can cause this, typically it is do to it trying to boot from something that does not have an OS on it, a usb stick or hard drive. Make sure none of these devices are connected. Also make sure none of the SATA ports in the BIOS are showing unknown devices. if they are disable the ports.

    Ahhh cool.

They do backups with an USB hard drive so that is probably the problem.   Duh.

    Did not think about that.

Next time we try a reboot we will unplug that drive and see how it goes.

And I assume there is some boot order selections in the bios?   I did not build it so do not know what order what is in that part.

    Thanks
