Also having this issue. Appears to be happening whenever the BOSS-S1 card is plugged into any of the PCI ports of the R720.
The BIOS seems to recognize the M.2. drives and booting works just fine, but attempting to access System Setup > Device Settings causes the same UEFI stack crash. It doesn't seem to matter which mode the system is in (BIOS or UEFI).
I have tried and every time I get this error. It's an unsupported BOSS card. I have upgraded the firmware to 2.9.0 however I haven't upgraded the iDRAC or LCC firmware up until last night, do you think this would change my outcome?
It looks like a incompatible hardware on the server, which UEFI BIOS is unable to identify, unfortunately. Hence, the BOSS card is not support by the server.
Very similar is happening on FC630 with IDSDM Firmware Version 1.11-A02 and virtual media connected to any .ISO
Boots normal without virtual media connected. BIOS is latest version 2.19.0
Latest IDSDM 1.12-A03 version is available, but caused many headaches with intermittent boot failures (mirror corruption of sdcards) , so it was downgraded to resolve such.
In retrospect, maybe nothing to do with IDSDM but rather the Virtual Media function / BIOS. 🤷♂️
EDIT: Setting UEFI mode allowed boot from ISO virtual media.
same error, i was given this server and installed windows from a memory stick in eufi mode. starts to boot, collects system inventory but there is nothing in the eufi boot manager. i hit continue and get same screen, same crash. frame 16.

Hello
I would start removing hardware to see if the issue changes. Since you can access the OS you could also re-flash hardware.
Thanks

This is on BIOS revision 2.9.0.

Hi,
Unfortunately, 12G and 13G server are unable to support BOSS-S1 card.

Did you have it formatted for BIOS or UEFI?
I am having the same issue and wondering if I install the OS on a different machine and then plug into thr R420 it will then boot?

Hi @Troggie0092,
I doubt it would work, as R420 is not compatible with BOSS card. If you have a BOSS card to try, let's clear that doubt and let us know if it works.

Is there a way to bypass it or at-least boot to BIOS instead of UEFI?

Thank you
The error remains whether BIOS or UEFI modes

Hi @Troggie0092,
Nop, that's not possible to bypass.
You can switch Boot modes in BIOS, under boot settings, though.

Hello, I’m afraid I’m going to have to repeat what Joey said earlier.
“Unfortunately, 12G and 13G server are unable to support BOSS-S1 card.”
This also means = No Boss, No error message either.
Let us know if you have additional questions.
