iDrac not pingable

Hi,

I have an R640 where the iDrac has stopped responding.   I ran a racadm racreset a few times (Soft, -f, etc) and it hasn't helped at all.  I can't Ping it or anything.  What else can I do remotely to try to get the iDrac working again?  If nothing, what can I have someone who's on-site with the server do to try to fix it?

I believe the iDrac port is part of the system board, and not an expansion card, so not something we can unplug and reseat or anything.

Thanks for any help.

    WHy is there no Edit button?  These forums are really bad.  Anyway, this is an R430, not an R640.  I'd edit the post but can't.  Nice.

    Hello

    @kelemvor33

    Please check this out. https://dell.to/3EQ106T

    I don't know what happened with not being able to edit situation. I haven't got complains from other users. Should it persist, you could let us know by uploading a screenshot.

    For the actual topic:

    Depending on OS installed, OMSA can be deployed on Windows/ESXI and Linux.

    Also R430 has optional iDRAC port card.

    I'm not sure how you run "racadm racreset" if you cannot connect to the idrac. This is SSH command that has to be executed from iDRAC SSH session.

    Thanks for choosing Dell.

    • Your first link doesn't work.  It just takes me to the Community Home page.: https://dell.to/3EQ106T
    • I have OMSA installed and the settings are in there but the iDrac itself doesn't work.
    • Racadm racreset is something you run from within Windows...

    As for editing, is there supposed to be an Edit option somewhere?  I don't have one.

    I am not certain what options general users normally have listed there, but it doesn't look to be permission based from what I can see, but that means we aren't really able to do anything to help resolve it.
