Thank you for the service tag.

If you experience any issues using the LCC to perform platform updates then you should manually update the iDRAC and LCC to the latest versions. If you still experience issues, drain flea power and reset the iDRAC to defaults.

Thanks Daniel

LCC and IDRAC are already at the latest version (I updated these manually). I drained the flea power, restarted the updates via LCC and left it running but after 24hrs it's still saying downloading and validating DUP.

I tried some of the minor updates one at a time and they did update using ftp.dell.com so it does work... all that's left now is the OS drivers pack. Presumably this is a big file and the ftp server is incredibly slow, like leave it running for 3 days and it's still downloading.

I'm going to do this update manually via USB, as I have been messing about for a week now trying to do the updates via LCC. This is going to be a right pain for every server, LCC is a great idea in theory but doesn't seem to work in practice.

I suggest using Dell EMC Repository Manager to create a local repository. You can download all of the updates or just the OS driver pack that is taking a long time to download. You can then direct all of your servers to your local repository instead of our repository.

I highly recommend any business that has several systems to use DRM to manage a local repository instead of our repository. This will help reduce bandwidth usage on the WAN, and it should decrease the time needed to perform updates due to download/upload speed limitations.
