Memory is not optimized
I upgraded our R715 servers from 16 4 GB 1333 Mhz RAM chips to 16 8GB 1600 MHz chips. Updated the Bios and changed the System Setting from 1.35v to 1.5v. When the system boots up it still shows 1333MHz and gives a warning "The installed memory is not Optimized".
Any help would be great.

Hi Paul,
Making those changes should have allowed the memory to work. Is it seeing all of the new memory and reporting 128GB? What model processor is in the system?

Hi Josh,
The system sees all the memory just shows as 1333MHz, and memory not optimized the new RAM Item Number A6960121 from Dell. We are running dual AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 6168 12 core. We are running VMWare Vsphere 5.0 and seems to not have any issues.
Thank you
Paul

The 6168 doesn’t support 1600mhz. It requires a 6200 series Opteron.

Hi Josh,
I'm surprised to hear this for the fact it is on dell's sit as replacement memory under my service tag? It was also the ram that was quoted by my Sale team? Is this going to effect performance?

The website uses service tag to select model, it doesn't give compatibility for individual configurations. It may be the only memory that was available at the time, it will work fine, just at 1333 rather than 1600.
