PowerEdge T110 Chipset and CPU Compatibility?

On one of the previous BIOS updates for the T110, I noticed in the release notes something about compatibility for Core i7.  I can't seem to find this anymore, but is does the T110 support the Core series of CPU's?  They are the same LGA 1156 socket, but even on Intel's compatibility list, it shows the maximum capable CPU is still a Xeon or a Core i3.  If it is possible, would it ever be worth it to take a Core i7, or a Xeon 3480?  I think the only turn off from what I hear is that Core i7 does not support ECC while the Xeon CPU's do.  Thoughts?

Htc2010,

The T110  does look to support the X3480 processors (part number X6PC8). All of Dell servers require ECC, but the Core i7 is a desktop feature. So it won't be validated on our server. It may function, but it isn't tested.

Sounds good, thanks.  I think what broke the deal for us was ECC.  We definitely need to have that running on our server.  Just ordered the Xeon X3470 - should be arriving tomorrow!
