If you have the optional DRAC4 you can configure this to allow you to be able to do a remote power up of the system.

I don't have DRAC4. I heard  about Microsoft 'OnNow' initiative. Does it work? If so, what is the tool on remote client?

Other than the DRAC, WoL may be an option.

Wake On LAN is not available on the latest BIOS for PowerEdge server. Some say that we may need some kind of wire to connect motherboard and NIC.

why OnNow can not be used? I am also wondering what BMC is for. Any idea?

I was out of touch with servers for so long. In 1994-95, we tried some proprietary technology to accomplish this.

WoL means Wake on Lan, however you may want to look around in how to set it up

Any idea whether PE480 supports WoL? I could not find in A03 BIOS.
