r620 IDRAC initialization error when booting
I have a r620 that presents a IDRAC initialization error when booting. What options do I have to resolve this?

Hello
Power issues are the typical reason an iDRAC will fail to initialize. Unsupported or faulty hardware in the system is another common cause.
If the power was completely removed from the system then you should allow 1-2 minutes after re-attaching power before turning it on. That should allow enough time for components like the iDRAC to power up before they are called on in the POST process.
If that does not resolve the issue then draining flea power, clearing NVRAM, and taking the system to minimum-to-POST are basic troubleshooting steps that should be performed. When the iDRAC fails to initialize you typically cannot do anything with it, but sometimes you can have partial functionality. If you are able to boot to an operating system then you can try flashing the iDRAC/LCC firmware. If it will not perform a flash then you can try updating the system BIOS and then try the iDRAC again.
If you are unable to resolve the issue then the most likely part to replace would be the system board. The iDRAC is integrated into the system board.
