You have to import the foreign config.  A raid config is stored within the HBA and also on the drives. So if your HBA loosing the config because you need to replace it or moving the drives to another server this becomes possible because the config is stored on the drives and can be importet.

But.... under normal instances a HBA never loose the config.

I have bad feelings about the "rebuild" status of one of the foreign drive. You should ask Dell support about that issue.

Regards,
Joerg

Try a power draining which means to pull both power cables and press the power on button for 30sec. Now connect the power cables again and start the server.

I have seen long initializing firmware times before but for sure i never have to wait 4h.

Hi @wbadahdah,

Would you be able to access to the RAID BIOS again, to check the rebuild status percentage? Is server BIOS accessible?

Do you have another mouse and keyboard to troubleshoot the issue? If there is no other keyboard mouse, could you unplug the devices and connect them to another USB port.

Are you able to boot to the Lifecycle Controller? If so then you need to look at updating the server. Also from within the Lifecycle Controller, if you aren't going to update now, then you can disable "Collect hardware inventory on boot" under iDrac Settings and it will be able to proceed beyond the hanging point.

Lastly, normally a amber and green light is an indication of a Predicted Failure, once you can access it I would verify if any of the Physical Disks are showing as a Predicted Failure.

Let us know.
