If you go to support.dell.com and enter the system service tag you can review the configuration under the system configuration tab.
If you choose the current configuration you can have it analyze the system to determine the current system hardware in case anything has been changed since the original order.
The enter-service-tag-for-specific-details feature is "under construction" at the moment and is pretty hit/miss. You can PM me the Service Tag to see if I can see it on my end if you want, but you can also determine the hardware in Device Manager ... right-click the device, Properties, Details tab, change dropdown to Hardware Ids, then give me the DEV and VEN ID's.
Are you just installing the OS now? Which OS?
Are we talking about the onboard NIC's or an add-in NIC ordered with the server?
Yeah I tried that, it was kind of a joke, all kinds of cryptic wording. But thanks :)
The only utility I can think of that will put your configuration in a simple format is the Server Update Utility/LCC. You can boot to the lifecycle controller(F10) and select platform update. The negative to this method is that it will only display hardware that has an available update.
The system configuration list contains every component ordered with the server and the components part number. The brief description is just enough to let you know what the product is. Once you locate the component in the list use the part number to search online for more information on that component. The part number is the 5 digit alpha numeric code to the left of the description.
You PM by clicking on a user's name, then starting a conversation. You could also just paste what you see there ... yes, it is cryptic, but there are those of us that can decipher most of it.
As I also described earlier, post the VEN and DEV ID's from Device Manager (if using Windows).
Are you looking for the onboard NIC or is this a PCIe NIC added in by Dell or by you?
