Choose your OS

Always install the chipset driver first, with any fresh install of the OS.

Same issue here. It does not seem to cause me any problems, but I want my server nicely cleaned up.

I went to the download page that was proposed, but I don't see any specific chip drivers downloads here.

Anybody can give more detail on how to solve this ?

sm bus is part of the Chipset driver. The other one is the Video driver.

Well I am not as versed in servers as I am desktops and portables, It could be one of the non-scsi controllers, just a guess.

Hello mombodog,

Thanks for your reply !

However, I am not able to solve the SM Bus controller issue (no issue on the video driver).

It is without any doubt due to me, but when I go to http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen (the address you give here), and select the PowerEdge 860, I get on a "general" download page for this server, that - as far as I can see - does not contain chipset drivers.

Am I missing somthing or is it "hidden" in anoter driver/download ?

Many thanks in advance !

Oh Ok, well, that basically means this problem is not solved yet...

Dang ! Thanks for your help anyway...

EuroMavrick,

Go to Intel's website and download the latest "INF Update Utility".  This will update all of the Chipset drivers.   I too have a PowerEdge 860 and this worked like a charm.
