VirtualCDrom VirtualFloppy - purpose?

Question

In the bios you can set the virtual drives as boot devices... and in Windows they are displayed as normal Drives. My questions are: - what are these for? I have not yet found out how to mount anything to one of these virtual drives - can i somehow mount these drives over network, eg using pxe boot or something like that? I looked into the documentation but was unable to find useful info.

The VirtualCDROM and VirtualFloppy are part of the DRAC board. This is whatlets you remote boot the machine off a CD in a machine elsewhere. Hope this helps,   LNXGuy

The VirtualCDROM and VirtualFLOPPY can be disabled. When the machine is booting, press the CTRL-D when it gets to the DRAC board configuration. Page down and diable virtual devices.   LNXGuy:smileyhappy:

Thx. I figured it out soon after - I just didn't know that you have to access it through the drac card.
