1750 and 220s RAID issues

Any help would be appreciated on this.

I have two poweredge 1750 servers connected to a Powervault 220s.

I have two problems of which the first is:

I am trying to setup the 220s as RAID 5 using control+M but it does not seem to find the four disks connected through the second SCSI adapter and only shows me the single disk on the first adapter.
I have upgraded the f irmware on the 220s and the BIOS and RAID f irmware on the perc 4 dc card.

Secondly i am trying to setup windows 2003 cluster server but once i have finished configuring node 1 with quorum and everthing in cluster administrator i turn node 2 on and it hangs whilst booting then finally when it loads windows the quorum becomes offline for both node.

Hi Mike,

You need to have the PV220 set to cluster mode, switch is in the middle in the back...

I have set the Powervault 220 to the cluster position and i am still only able to RAID the unit within windows as the Ctrl-M option does not pickup the hard drives in the powervault unit.

Hi Mike,

  Some steps to follow...

verify that each of the PERC (2,3,or 4)/DC are at the same F/W and have the dame drivers and that the O/S have same SP and patches, and same raid management S/W versions. The O/S must be the enterprise version or advanced enterprise version.

Verify that both ESEM's or ESMM's on the P/V have their F/W updated.

Turn off node 2, boot node 1 into CTRL M and see if the drives are visable, make sure you have selected the correct controller, there are usually TWO PERC controllers in cluster systems, one for the internal drives and a second for the quorem drives. If the same controller is used for both sets of drives, verify that you have not used the same channel for both the internal and external drives.
