Add SCSI driver before inserting hardware
Hi community,
i tried to add the SCSI driver for PERC5 and SAS5 (from PowerEdge 2900) at a running SBS 2003 system at a PowerEdge SC420 but failed because it complained that the hardware could not be found. It is possible to install the drivers before the hardware is inserted?

I have the same problem. I would like to install the PERC5 driver on a PE1600SC before cloning it to a PE2950.
Did you solve the problem?
Best Regards

I cloned my old 1600SC on a 2950 with this procedure:
- buy some cheap SATA interface and disks.
- install them on the old PC
- clone original disks on SATA disks (I used Symantec Ghost Corp)
- move the SATA disks on the 2950, unplug the SAS disks.
- boot using SATA disks, let W2K3 recognize new hardware, configure new network interfaces, install SAS drivers etc.
- plug in the SAS disk, and clone SATA disk to SAS disk.
- job done
Good luck
